Advocacy Education Series

About the AES

The Board of Advocates' Advocacy Education Series (AES) is a collection of seminars designed to provide all students with an opportunity to learn about a particular type of advocacy. The purpose of the advocacy seminar is to give those who do not compete an opportunity to learn advocacy skills, give those who might compete the ability to learn enough to be competitive at their first advocacy event, and encourage confident, knowledgeable competition from all students.

During each seminar, students will receive: (1) an engaging lesson from an attorney or faculty member on the particular type of advocacy in the upcoming competition, (2) a student/lecturer demonstration of the competition format and styles, (3) information on how to sign up to compete in the related competition.

There will be at least one meal-time (food provided; please bring a beverage) seminar for each of theĀ BOA intrascholastic (on-campus) competitions. But, the seminars are open to all law students, regardless of whether they intend on competing.
